בימים אלה (יולי 2024) מבצעת עיריית קריית אתא הצללה וקירוי בבתי הספר: גבעת רם, גבעת טל, גבעת אלונים, נעם, ירושלים, פינסקר, שפרינצק וחטיבה עליונה רוגוזין.
הקירוי בוצע לאחר התקנת ההצללה כפיילוט בחצר ביה"ס גורדון. ההצללה הינה עמידה, מגנה מפני גשם ושמש ובטוחה לשימוש תוך שימוש בטכנולוגיה מתקדמת, המאפשרת קירוי ללא עמודים תומכים במרכז החצר באופן שיאפשר שימוש בטוח בכל המרחב הפתוח ללא הפרעה.
במסגרת התוכנית יבוצע בהמשך קירוי גם בשאר בתי הספר עיר עד להשלמת כל מוסדו החינוך בעיר.

עיריית קרית אתא תמשיך להציב בראש סולם העדיפויות את ההשקעה במערך החינוך בכדי שתושבי העיר, ילדיה ותלמידיה ימשיכו ליהנות ממערכת חינוך איכותית, מתוכניות למידה חדשניות ומבתי ספר וגני ילדים מודרניים ומתקדמים.
