להקת כרישים שהגיעה כדי להזדווג בחופי חיפה, התמקמה במשך כמה ימים, בקיץ 2005, בחוף "הריפים" שמול מלון מרידיאן. הכרישים לא פחדו מגולשי הגלים שגלשו שם באותו זמן. אחד הכרישים הסתבך בליש הגלשן של גולש הגלים ושניהם נבהלו מאד מהמפגש. סקרנים רבים הגיעו לחוף כדי לצפות במחזה.
